The Problem with Diets
We know that diets don’t work long-term for most people.
Australia and most of the developed world is in the midst of an obesity epidemic. As a result, rates of obesity related illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease are soaring, and medical costs are increasing.
On television and radio we are bombarded with advertisements for diets, weight loss programs, and even major surgery, all aimed at people who want or need to lose weight.
It’s generally accepted that weight loss can be achieved with a “diet”. BUT, most diets include some form of deprivation and/or denial, or point-counting, and when the diet fails, we are even more programmed to think about food all of the time. As a result, the weight we’ve lost tends to return, and this can be disappointing and damaging to our self-esteem and confidence as well as our health.
“Diets” can get the weight off, but can’t keep it off long term.
How many sessions?
To get best benefit from The Virtual Gastric Band Program, there is a combination of approaches. In addition to the five hypnosis sessions, you will receive a self-hypnosis recording to listen daily for 28 days, and a set of guidelines to follow. These support and reinforce the effects of the sessions. After you have completed the four sessions, you will receive a self-hypnosis recording which has been personalised to your own needs and goals.
These recordings are yours to keep forever.
In each of the hypnosis sessions, hypnosis is used to reinforce long-term behaviour changes including eating smaller amounts and exercising regularly. Hypnosis is also used to address issues which have de-railed weight management in the past, including binge-eating, comfort eating, and eating habits learnt during childhood.
A fifth session is scheduled for 2-3 months later for a check-in and a further hypnotherapy session, as required.
The first session introduces the concept of a virtual gastric band. The aim of this is not to make you ‘think’ that you have a gastric band fitted; it is a tool to get you to respond to your instinctive signals, and stop eating when you feel comfortable.
Issues such as procrastination, comfort eating and cravings just fall away. Anxiety and self-esteem issues become things of the past. This is a holistic program which addresses much more than weight.
